Hellblade Developers Reveal Their Game of Mental Terror, Project Mara – GKZ Hitech

Ninja Theory will continue its exploration of mental health through video games beyond the Hellblade series, as today the Microsoft-owned studio announced Project: Mara. It's an "experimental title under development that explores new ways of storytelling," and the first trailer suggests a heavy horror vibe supported by the same kind of performance captured by intense movement. that we saw in Hellblade.

"Project: Mara will be a true and grounded representation of mental terror", as Ninja Theory describes in the official announcement, "Based on lived experience and extensive research to recreate the horrors of the mind so precisely and as realistic as possible. "

Ninja Theory aims to continue to develop a variety of games under small teams, each one expressing new risky stories and continuing to push the studio's internal technology. The door to this project, which the studio calls Dreadnought, also includes the previously announced Project Insight – an effort to help people solve their mental health problems in the real world.

You can learn more about the Ninja Theory philosophy in a video from the developer diary or check out the Mara project trailer below.

At the heart of [Project: Mara] is the character who drives him. The game has only one character and one location, explains Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades in the development video. "This is an experimental project and a showcase for a new medium of immersive storytelling."
