The second episode of the final season of the incredibly popular TV series, Game of Thrones, was filled with surprises for fans. However, one of the scenes in the series got fans thrilled, and data from Google Trends shows just how much.
Google searches for “age of Arya Stark” after new episode of GoT
If you haven’t seen the second episode yet, there’s some damage waiting for you, so read on at your own risk.
The second episode of GoT saw a lot of going on, before the Battle of Winterfell in the next episode (which should be epic), and one of the scenes showed Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) making love to Gendry (played by Joe Dempsie).
The scene immediately drew a strong reaction from fans, who have watched Arya grow up since Season 1, and apparently a lot of people have Google searched for Maisie Williams (and Arya Stark) for the age after the episode.
Maisie Williams, 22, said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly : “It was really interesting because it’s a very human relationship for Arya. It’s something she has stayed away from, an emotion she has never really indulged in. ” She added: “At first I thought it was a joke. I was like, ‘Good, good.’ And [les spectateurs étaient] like, ‘No, we haven’t done it this year.’ Oh f… k!
The scene was something never before seen by fans with Arya, but it makes a lot of sense to her character. After all, the Battle of Winterfell might just be right when she dies, and Arya has never left such an emotion in her life until now. It also shows her character realizing that she just might die in the coming battle – it’s a thought I’d rather not have. Arya is, after all, one of the best characters on the show. Once again, “All the best characters will die” has been pretty much the theme of Game of Thrones since season 1. Let’s just cross our fingers for episode 3.
