When you receive an SMS from a company, such as your operator, your bank or a parcel delivery firm for example, Google will take care to verify the identity of the sender.
On its website, Google explains using codes of authenticity to check each SMS. If the identity of the company is verified, a verified icon will appear above the SMS received. Users can then trust the content of the message and click on any links. In this case, Google Messages will display an unscreened SMS icon.
