games purchased through eShop are limited to one console

If the Nintendo Switch will offer a line-up of video games in physical format when it is launched at March 3, 2017, it will also be possible to purchase titles in dematerialized format via the eShop online service.

We learned through the Gameranx site that if you choose to purchase a game in digital format, it will be linked to your Nintendo Account and, consequently, to a single game console.

Indeed, Shinya Takahashi – general manager of planning and development at Nintendo – faced the following question during a presentation of the game 1-2 Switch: "If I had to buy a second Nintendo Switch for my kids, could I buy games once from the eShop and have them playable on both machines?" "

"Currently, we don't have a system offering this for the Nintendo Switch"replied Takahashi. "We have not made a final decision as to how we will deal with this situation in the future, when unfortunately I cannot give you a concrete answer at the moment."

This confirms that it is only possible to use one Nintendo account per console. Hopefully the manufacturer considers this problem to provide better flexibility in the future.
