Samsung presented its very first Bluetooth tracker, titled the Galaxy SmartTag, along with its latest flagships. The device makes it possible to find any object simply by placing it on it, whether it is next to it or at a great distance. The technology works with the SmartThings platform, which already offers the possibility of tracking down its Samsung connected objects.
Samsung took advantage of the announcement of its Galaxy S21 smartphone range to present a new product: the Galaxy SmartTag. We told you about it a few days ago, the SmartTag is a small Bluetooth tracker. Thanks to it, it is possible to find any object, connected or not, on which the device is placed.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy SmartTag thus makes it possible to locate “Your keys, your bag and even your pet”. The tracker can in fact be integrated into a collar dedicated to its use. To do this, simply place it on the object in question, or inside when the latter is suitable. A dedicated key also allows ring your smartphone, even if it is on vibrate or silent.

Samsung’s first Bluetooth tracker works with SmartThings Find, the Korean firm’s platform that allows you to locate all Galaxy devices. The application also offers the possibility of remote control of its connected objects and can therefore serve as a home assistant. Samsung, however, mainly focused on its location function in his lecture.
The application works with a bluetooth connection as well as Ultra Wideband (UWB), a micro-tracking technology that offers extraordinary precision. Samsung also explains that its platform works that the device “Is in a room or in another city”, while showing a map showing objects in various regions of the globe.
The Galaxy SmartTag can therefore be very useful when you have completely lost track of your favorite object. Whether it has been forgotten in a taxi or in a suitcase, it will be possible to find its precise location, worldwide. Samsung has yet to release pricing for its Bluetooth tracker, which will hit the market on January 29, 2021. But be aware that for the pre-order of a Galaxy S21, S21 + or S21 Ultra, a smartTag is offered.
