Galaxy S20: Samsung rolls out Android 11 update with One UI 3.0

Samsung has just launched the rollout of the Android 11 update, accompanied by the One UI 3.0 overlay, on the Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra. These are the first smartphones from the manufacturer to be able to install the firmware in the final version. We explain how to install Android 11 as soon as the update is available on your phone.

On December 2, Samsung kicked off the Android 11 update for the Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra. After months of beta program, users can finally install the final and stable version of the One UI 3.0 interface, report our colleagues from SamMobile.

Note that Samsung is rolling out the update a bit ahead of its latest rollout schedule. Indeed, the firm had not planned to launch Android 11 on the S20s before December. A few weeks ago, the official Samsung site had nevertheless announced the arrival of the update in the course of November.

How to install Android 11 with One UI 3.0 on your Galaxy S20?

As always, the South Korean giant is opting for a gradual deployment. For the time being, only the subscribers of the American operator Verizon have been able to switch to Android 11. In the days and even weeks to come, all users will be able to take advantage of the new features of the eleventh major update of Android. To check if it is already available on your Galaxy S20, just follow the maneuver below:

  • Go to the menu Settings
  • Press on About the device
  • Select now Software update
  • If available, choose Start the update and follow the instructions provided by your Galaxy S20

Before starting the firmware installation, we advise you to check that your smartphone battery has at least 50% autonomy. After the Galaxy S20s, Samsung is expected to roll out the Android 11 update to the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 +, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold 2.
