Galaxy Buds Pro: 28 hours of battery life, IPX7 certification, Samsung headphones are revealed again

A succession of leaks reveals everything you need to know about the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung’s new true wireless headphones. Autonomy, certification, technical specifications of the speakers… A few weeks before the launch, the Buds Pro are exposed.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro

If Samsung released the Buds Live only a few months ago (it was last August), the South Korean manufacturer is already preparing a new iteration of its wireless headphones. On the other hand, the Galaxy Buds Pro should not take the bean form of the Live Buds, Samsung having opted for a more classic design.

For some time, therefore, we already know the design that the Buds Pro would borrow. More recently, we learned that they would benefit from sound spatialization and a voice detection mode. A few weeks before their official presentation, it’s the technical sheet Buds Pro which is revealed almost entirely.

Galaxy Buds Pro would benefit from 20% more autonomy

According to information collected by 91mobiles, Samsung has greatly improved the battery of its wireless headphones. Small accessories would thus benefit from an autonomy of 28 hours, or 20% more than the previous iteration. If the charging box takes advantage of 472 mAh battery, the headsets have a battery of 61 mAh each.

Another novelty: the Galaxy Buds Pro would also benefit from a IPX7 certification, which should provide them with protection in water for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter. For comparison, the Galaxy Buds only had an IPX2 certification (water resistance with an angle of 15 °).

When it comes to audio quality, bass enthusiasts should be served, since the Buds Pro would benefit from 11mm woofers. On the restitution side of the sharpest sounds, we can count on 6.5mm tweeters with 2 coaxial speakers. The Galaxy Buds should also allow you to isolate yourself from your environment using a 35 dB noise reduction system.

Galaxy Buds Pro should be priced at € 229

According to rumors, it will be possible to adjust the noise cancellation in several levels, but the most relevant functionality is undoubtedly the reproduction of a spatial sound in 3D, which follows the movements of the head. However, this option would only work with updates to Android 11 and OneUI 3.0. To benefit from it, it is therefore imperative to have a Samsung smartphone, and not too old in addition.

Other rumors explain that the Buds Pro would offer special gyro sensors, support Dolby Altmos and a 4-level noise reduction mode. Only a doubt remains concerning the touch controls: some leakers claim that the Galaxy Buds Pro do not have the Double Tap command, while others explain that the headphones will indeed have it.

On the price side, the Buds Pro should be displayed at a higher price than the Buds Live, officially available at 199 €. According to the latest rumors, the Buds Pro are expected to be priced at € 229. Two colors would be available at launch: black or silver. No Bronze model like the Buds Live, but other variants would launch a bit later in the year.

We now know almost everything about the new headphones from Samsung. If the South Korean giant has not yet officially given a presentation date for its new headphones, it is likely that they will be unveiled at the same time as the new Galaxy S21, which will be presented on January 14, 2021.
