Recently, Free sold on the Vente-privée.com site a number of its ADSL packages, usually sold for 29.99 euros per month, at a promotional price of 10 euros per month. However, the first invoice received by the few subscribers to this formula hides a surprise, which inflates the price somewhat.
Surprise in the invoice
It is the Freenews site which reveals the affair, after the first invoices arrived at the subscribers. All noted that instead of the 10 euros announced, the amount requested was greater. If the invoice, originally 29.99 euros, is indeed the subject of a reduction of 19.99 euros as part of the “Private Sale Operation of July 2010”, it also presents the invoicing for the period subscription for the month of June, pro rata temporis. A more than classic practice among operators, except that this time, the difference is calculated on the basis of 29.99 euros, and not 10 euros as expected. The reduction in question is valid for one year, from June 2010 to June 2011.
The operator has not yet commented on this billing problem. On the customer service side, subscribers have heard different responses. Some were advised to complete a refund request, others were told that this difference is normal.
