The subsidiary of the Hon Hai group plans to open a new production plant located in the city of Huaian (east of China) where Apple's products would be exclusively assembled, reports the China Daily.
The collaboration between Apple and Foxconn is in good shape if we are to believe the China Daily. Indeed, the latter was informed by the Tawan business office that the subsidiary of the Hon Hai group will invest $ 210 million in the construction of a new factory in the city of Huai'an (east of China) where Apple products would be exclusively assembled. This new production unit would spread over an area of 40,000m and could accommodate almost 40,000 term employees. Far from the 200,000 employees who are part of the Foxconn plant based in Shenzhen (southern China). Still according to the same source, this production unit is expected to generate annual sales of nearly $ 1 billion. Its construction should start in October and be completed in June next year. A period which would curiously coincide with the start of production of the seventh generation of the iPhone. While Apple opened a new factory in Brazil and Zhengzhou last year, Huai’an’s future factory could become the place to exclusively produce Apple’s smartphone. Case to follow.
