Screen Ireland reports that the series will be filmed at the Troy studios in Limerick in the south of Ireland throughout 2020. Add to that Apple has already hired 500 local people to carry out the project.

It will be the largest production ever made in the country. Apple has also initiated training for new entrants in the Limerick region, with training specific to the objectives of the series. Among the Irish there will also be prim costume designer Eimer Ni Mhaoldomhnaigh.

Foundation is the most well-known series of science fiction books by Asimov and includes novels such as Foundation, Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation, as well as Foundation’s Edge and Foundation and Earth.

The series tells the story of the export of psycho-history and the mathematician Hari Seldon, a man who can predict the future. Seldon creates a group called the Foundation to preserve collective knowledge of humanity before the imminent fall of the galactic empire. The novels span several years, with the rise and fall of several empires, so it will not be easy to adapt them to a TV series. Harris will play Hari Seldon, the math genius, while Pace will play Brother Day, the Emperor of the Galaxy.

The first season will include 10 episodes and is expected to hit Apple TV + between late 2020 and early 2021.
