Like every year, the magazine Fortune has just published its ranking of 500 largest US companies. Being part of this list for several successive years, the apple firm continues to climb in the ranking and this time reaches 3rd position.
Indeed, Apple now generates 233.715 billion dollars in turnover, which places it in particular behind the large-scale distribution company Walmart (482.130 billion dollars CA) and the oil and gas company ExxonMobil Corporation (246.204 billion of CA dollars).
As a reminder, the Cupertino company held 5th place last year (read: Fortune 500: Apple remains 5th in the ranking in 2015). This is therefore an important progression for Apple, which has also started since 2010. Six years ago, the brand still ranked 56th in the ranking.
Nevertheless, despite its meteoric rise in the ranking, Fortune magazine did not fail to specify that the Apple is currently experiencing a significant drop in sales of its iPhone. A drop certainly due to the arrival in force of its competitors, especially on the Chinese market. However, still according to the magazine, the situation should improve with the introduction of the Apple Car in the years to come.
