Fortnite v12.10 update: what to expect

Fortnite v12.10 is just around the corner. Take a look at what you can expect to find in the release notes when the update becomes available.

The first Fortnite Season 2 patch is expected to be released this week – starting Tuesday, March 4. We have no news of the release at the time of writing, but an update on March 4 would not be a surprise.

It is still early, but we know a lot about what we can expect in the next patch. Here is an overview of the first Fortnite v12.10 release notes.

Bug fixes

We never know exactly what a new patch will bring us, but we do know some bugs that Epic is working on.

The following bug fixes will be included in the next Fortnite patch:

  • XP gain for XP coins not appearing in the XP bar.
  • Cannot close the card with a card entry if it is linked to the directional pad up.
  • Teammate arrows flickering / temporarily disappearing in Team Rumble.
  • Weak points are not recorded when they are very close to them.
  • split screen: player 1 interrupts the action of the trigger button for player 2.
  • Y0ND3R's flair style incorrectly locked.
  • The Big Haul Glider variant cannot be unlocked.
  • (Creative) The class selection device will only work if the volume is visible.

Unfortunately, there are still some disturbing bugs listed as "In Development" on the Trello board of Fortnite Community Issues. The most glaring problem in this category is. "FPS reports have dropped since version 12.00."

This designation probably means that we will not get a patch in version 12.10. Hopefully Epic will surprise us. Otherwise, PC gamers will face exasperating frame drops for another week.

A new element

Last week we saw a report of three leaked articles found in the Fortnite game files. These include a costume kit, safety plans and a nearby mine.

The security plans were probably related to Brutus' challenges of fidelity, so we have already seen them. If I had to guess, I would say that the costume kit comes next.

According to Fortnite leaks, this item will work like a phone booth on the go. You can dress up without visiting one of the stands. This addition looks similar to the Harpoon Gun in season 1, which is why it is the best candidate for a v12.10 version.

A new LTM

We also saw an LTM leak last week, revealing an infected LTM from Fortnite. We don't have a ton of information on this one, but the name suggests that it will be similar to the types of games in Halo, Call of Duty and Apex Legends.

If you have not played one of these game modes, they work as follows: the game starts with a team of normal players and one or more infected players. Infected players use strong missile attacks and improved movements while normal players use weapons.

Each time an infected player obtains an elimination, the slain opponent turns into an infected player. The game ends when everyone is sick or the healthy players run out / run out of time.

We have also seen recent news of a faction war event or Fortnite LTM, although this may happen in the more distant future.

A lot could happen with the release of the first patch of Fortnite Season 2. We will keep you posted on everything you need to know.
