Follow these 2 tips to save photos from iMessage

Have you just received photos and videos sent by your loved ones and would like to save them on your iPhone?

Unlike Whatsapp, the iOS Messages app does not automatically transfer the media to your filmstrip. It is a process that users have to do themselves.

Save an iMessage photo or video

Here is the procedure for transferring received photos to your iOS via iMessage:

  • Open the app Posts on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the conversation containing the files to be saved.
  • Go to the name of your contact, then on Info.
  • Choose an image.
  • At the bottom of the left, press the sharing icon.
  • Select Save.

To keep a recently received picture, you just have to find it on the wire of your conversation, keep your finger pressed and select Save.

Save multiple iMessage photos or videos simultaneously

To archive multiple images at once, use the following steps:

  • Open the app Posts on your iPhone.
  • Tap on the conversation containing the files to be saved.
  • Go to the name of your contact, then on Info.
  • Touch View all photos.
  • At the top right of the screen, go to Select.
  • Tap on each photo you want to transfer.
  • Finalize with Save, in the lower left corner.

In just 7 steps, you have just added photos to your film collection.

Automatically save photos via AirDrop

As mentioned above, for some unknown reason, Apple does not allow automatic backup of received photos via iMessage. However, there is another way to get them to appear in your iPhone library, thanks to AirDrop.

If you are in the presence of the person with whom you want to share your files, then use AirDrop. To do this, first make sure it is configured:

  • See you in your Control center.
  • Hold down the graphics network card (the square in which the Airplane Mode, WiFi, Cellular Data and Bluetooth icons are located).
  • Tap on the option AirDrop.
  • Then choose the sharing mode activate, Contacts only or Everybody.

you are ready to send or receive photos via AirDrop. To do this :

  • Open an image.
  • Press thesharing icon, left at the bottom of the screen.
  • Touch the icon AirDrop and choose your contact.
