The month of December is very often an opportunity for different high tech companies to reveal certain figures for the year. After its research (read: Yahoo Research: Apple Watch, iPhone 5 & iPhone 6 Plus in the Top 10 of 2015), Yahoo chose to share some of the data from its Flickr service bought in 2005.
We learn that the Apple iPhone (all models combined) was used to take 42% of all the photos posted on the social photo-sharing network Flickr in 2015. In addition, 27% of the photos taken this year were with Canon EOS and 16% with Nikon D. For information, Flickr uses EXIF data from the photos to establish this ranking.
EXchangeable Image File is a file format specification for images used by digital cameras. Among other things, it lets you know the device that was used to capture an image. In detail, the most popular Apple smartphone in 2015 on Flickr is theIphone 6, in front of the iPhone 5S and the Galaxy S5. Then come the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 5.
