With his series Xplay, the Chinese manufacturer Vivo tries to offer the best of mobile technology, even before its appearance among the major international players in the market.

With the Vivo Xplay 7, it should exploit the latest innovations in several areas. A presentation of the main lines of the future smartphone, dating from last June, emerged on Chinese social networks.

The configuration would be based on a completely borderless display hiding a fingerprint reader under the screen, which would be a first in the mobile industry. Only a few slight cuts allow the front photo sensor to be placed at the top.

At the back, the smartphone would offer a dual photo sensor with Sony IMX401 module providing an X4 optical zoom. The technical sheet also suggests the presence of a SoC SnapDragon 845 with 8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of storage space.

The Vivo Xplay 7 would offer a USB-C port but would keep the 3.5mm jack. A launch during first quarter 2018 would be expected but it remains to be seen what will be retained from these ambitious features in the final model.
