It’s since this night that the new firmware 2.0.1 is available in download from iTunes.
This new firmware was expected to correct in particular certain stability problems of the previous version.
Under the appellations iPhone1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw for iPhone V1 and iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw for iPhone 3G, and a respectable file size of 248MB against 223Mb previously, you can now get started if you have an officially unlocked iPhone. Otherwise, we recommend you not to do this update (for the moment).
Regarding new features, some user feedback would have already noted the following improvements:
– Applications launch faster.– Applications are generally faster (screen flipping, etc.) – No more slowdown when writing (SMS, Safari address, etc.). – Improved reception of GSM networks. – Improved speed in WiFi.– Much faster backup.
If you have made this update and if you have noticed other news, don't hesitate to share it.
We discuss it on the forum.
