A few weeks after the release of iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, leaks and rumors about iPhone of 2019 are already on the agenda. The famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple should offer better smartphones on future smartphones facial recognition than the one available on today’s iPhones.
According to the analyst, Apple is preparing a new Face ID for the next iPhone. This is an improved version of the one currently available, in particular with the infrared facial recognition illuminator. The latter could be more effective in identifying faces despite interference from ambient light. Ming-Chi says that this new component could have an impact on the price of iPhone next year.
During the last quarter of 2019, even early 2020, Kuo indicates that the Face ID could appear on the next generation of iPad. In addition, the man also predicts the arrival of a new 3D modeling technology (Time of Flight) on the next iPad. This feature would be able to measure the distance between two objects by calculating the time it takes for light to reach them. This technology could then land on the iPhone in 2020.
