FaceTime Temporarily Disabled - FaceTime: a flaw allows you to listen to your contacts without their knowledge

The bug affects all versions since iOS 12.1 because it is the new group call function of Facetime which is concerned. To reproduce this problem, here are the steps to follow:

  • use FaceTime to call a video contact; while ringing, swipe up from the bottom of the screen;
  • press “add a person” and their own telephone number; press “add a person to FaceTime”;

For now, Apple has disabled the group calling system. There is therefore no possibility of exploiting the flaw. A press release launched by the American firm indicates that it has ” identified a fix that will be introduced in a software update later in the week
