Facebook wants you to play in Messenger

Playing games in Facebook Messenger? It may soon be possible. According to The Information, Facebook is currently in discussions with developers regarding game creation within the messaging app.

The relevance of the place of games (casual gaming) in an application like Messenger can raise questions but it is in any case an evolution allowed since Facebook made Messenger a platform of applications.

Third-party developers can thus submit applications that interact and complete the functionality of this messaging service which dissociated itself from the Facebook social network last year. It essentially revolves around animated images, emoji, videos or personalized musical messages integrated into conversations.

For the moment, the details are rather meager and there is no clue concerning a calendar for the arrival of the category of games.

Facebook Messenger claims more than 600 million active users per month. Last month, a standalone web version appeared and video calls were integrated.
