Facebook unveils new 3D photos: here’s how

Facebook has announced the arrival of 3D photos on its virtual reality portal. Visible on apps, computers, and virtual reality glasses like Oculus Go, you can take 3D photos directly from your smartphone using photos taken in portrait mode. The result is incredible!

The new technology presented by Facebook 360 will allow you to share with your friends and acquaintances a new type of 3D images. The images, taken from a portrait mode shot, maintain a sharp separation between foreground, second stage, and background subjects. As the stream or smartphone switches, these images show an effect called parallax which gives the post a sense of added depth.

To post a 3D photo on the famous social network, follow these simple steps:

  1. Take a portrait mode photo with your compatible smartphone.
