Facebook announced today that Huawei will no longer be able to install its apps, namely Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, on his devices. The social media giant is taking an active part in the trade war between China and the United States.

For Huawei smartphone owners, this announcement is not so troublesome. They will always be able to download and install the missing applications themselves. These will be always available for free on the Play Store or on the App Store.
By order of the American government, all American suppliers are obliged to end all business relationship with Huawei. Until further notice neither Qualcomm nor Intel will be able to provide them with hardware. Even worse, Google revoked Huawei’s Android license. If Facebook’s decision to no longer allow the pre-installation of its applications on devices of the Chinese brand, it remains symbolic. Whether by will or by force, the giants of Silicon Valley must take sides, probably despite themselves.
