The new iPad Pro should be particularly oriented augmented reality.
This year again, Apple should do us the honor of presenting a new iPad Pro. A 2020 oven that has already received many rumors and predictions. The opportunity, as did our colleagues from 9to5Mac, to go around everything you think you know about iPad Pro.
After a radical revisit of the tablet in 2018 with an edge-to-edge display, Apple mainly focused on the iPad Pro software in 2019 with iPadOS. This year, the firm should keep its design, while embarking on physical and internal novelties.
Multiple photo sensors
according to the various rumors, the iPad Pro 2020 should resume substantially the same design as the two previous models with an on-board display. It would be a 12.9 inch model with mini-LED technology which would make it thinner and lighter, but it wouldn't be this year.
The notable change would be on the back of the device, with the appearance of a camera base, inherited from the iPhone 11 Pro. LiPad Pro 2020 would therefore have a triple photo sensor, as well as a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor which would offer better capabilities to the tablet in terms of increased reality and depth perception.
This sensor would allow the tablet to support more augmented reality applications, but also to capture more realistic 3D photos of reality than what Apple technology currently offers.
A more powerful processor
Rumor has it that the new generation of Apple chips will soon go into production at TSMC, Apple's partner. Unfortunately, there is little chance that the A14 chip will be ready in time to end up in iPad Pro 2020. The tablet could therefore take advantage of the A13 Bionic which is already fitted to the 2019 iPhones.
As for a possible 5G model, it seems more likely that we will have to wait until next year to take advantage of it.
A new keyboard
According to various reports from Apple's supply chains, there is talk of the company developing a new version of its smart keyboard for iPad Pro. This would be equipped with a feature that is lacking the current Smart Keyboard Folio: the backlight. This is quite a case what claims Digitimes, reporting sources close to the case.
As for a new Apple Pencil, no rumor seems to go in this direction unfortunately
An upcoming presentation
It remains to be seen when Apple plans to unveil its new iPad Pro. The rumors seem to contradict each other. According to specialist analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a presentation during the first semester is possible.
That would mean Apple is showing iPad Pro during its spring keynote in March. A conference which should already be centered on iPhone 9 if it exists. Apple could also wait until WWDC in June to release its iPad Pro 2020. Hard to say at the moment.
