Many iPhone users are now victims of blackmail by hackers. As was the case in 2014, millions of Apple smartphones are currently blocked and hackers demand a ransom in exchange for unlocking them. The operation is not recent since some users have already paid for it last February. However, the number of victims has exploded in recent weeks.

It is not yet known exactly how they go about obtaining this confidential information, but it could be linked to data from recently hacked sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter.

For this hacking case, the hackers send an email to their victims and ask them to get in touch with them. If they accept the invitation, they provide them with all the instructions necessary for the payment of the ransom. Payment must in particular be made 12 hours after acceptance of the invitation and the amount requested generally varies between 30 and 50 dollars …
