We previously mentioned the HP Tango X connected printer. It was the turn of Epson, which today announced the activation of voice control when printing from an iOS device.
Thanks to this addition, it becomes possible to voice request to Siri to print a photo. In order to use this new feature, the user will need to download the Epson iPrint application which now supports Apple shortcuts on iOS.
Once the shortcut is installed, just configure an activation phrase which will start the printing process. So when an image is displayed on your iPhone, you can ask Siri to print it even if you are not at home.
Other voice commands are waiting for you: digitize a document or ask Siri about you show the amount of ink remaining in the cartridges.
Epson said these shortcuts should be used to simplify printing and scanning, the user will no longer have to navigate the application menus.
Printers with Epson Connect service, such as Epson EcoTank, WorkForce or Expression, are compatible with voice control.
