EMUI 11: Huawei rolls out update on 14 new smartphones

EMUI 11 is now available on 14 new Huawei and Honor smartphones. Despite the American sanctions against it, the Chinese group tirelessly continues to deploy its latest Android overlay in a final and stable version. We explain how to install the firmware as soon as it is available.

Announced in September 2020, Huawei’s new Android interface has already been rolled out to a total of 37 smartphones worldwide in the space of a few months. After pushing its overlay on the P40, P40 Pro and Mate 30 Pro and on the Mate XS, the Chinese firm begins the year 2021 by announcing the arrival of the EMUI 11 update on a list of 14 new smartphones, report our colleagues from Huawei Central.

In a post on Sina Weibo, the Chinese social network, Huawei announced the deployment of EMUI 11 in a stable version (11.0.0.125) on smartphones released in 2018 or 2019, including the Mate 20. Most of the terminals listed by Huawei had already been able to join the beta program of the update a few weeks ago.

As always, Huawei first offers the update on smartphones of Chinese users. In the coming weeks, EMUI 11 firmware will be available on other continents, including Europe. To check if the update is already available on your device, we advise you to go to the Settings / System / Software update and click on Check for updates.

As a reminder, all smartphones already compatible with EMUI 11 will be able to migrate to HarmonyOS in the years to come. Among the major new features of EMUI 11, cited an interface based on Android 10, a screen Customizable Always On Display, smoother animations and a new multi-window mode.
