According to information the French laboratory DxOMark, theiPhone XS Max is a “sure bet” for professional photographers.
The test carried out by the studio tells us that the iPhone XS Max is ahead of the iPhone X (97) with a score of 105, the HTC U12 + (103), the Galaxy Note 9 (103), the Galaxy S9 + (99), and Pixel 2 (98). However, Huawei’s P20 Pro ranks first, with a score of 109.
The studio says the iPhone XS Max is equipped with one of the best mobile cameras they have tested. It offers significant improvements compared to the iPhone X. In bright light, the quality of still and video images is excellent, with a very wide dynamic range and good details. The intelligent HDR function allows the user to take excellent shots in all conditions. Regarding the video part, the laboratory specifies that the iPhone XS Max offers “exceptional quality”.
The test also highlighted some weak points, including the luminance noise which is a little more intrusive than with other high-end phones, as well as the zoom mode which is somewhat behind compared to the competition. .
