Disney +: the complete Muppet Show will be available on February 19

The complete Muppet Show is coming to Disney + on February 19. The 1976 show has never been fully shown on a streaming platform before, with seasons 4 and 5 missing. It completes the Disney collection, which has (almost) all the content related to puppets.

The Disney + catalog continues to fill up. While the streaming service already has more than 86 million subscribers to its counter, it makes a point of honor to offer family content which adapts to everyone’s taste. He thus announced the arrival of the complete Muppet Show on February 19 next on its platform. The opportunity for early fans to share their enthusiasm with the younger audience.

The show, created in 1976, has been a huge success since its inception. Characters Kermit, Miss Piggy or even Gonzo are now an integral part of the cultural landscape. Alongside them, big celebrities have appeared on the small screen, such as Elton John, Mark Hamill and Steve Martin. Disney can also pride itself on offering seasons 4 and 5 of the Muppet Show, never before broadcast on a third-party service.

Almost the entire Muppet Show catalog is available on Disney +

Disney therefore completes its already well-stocked catalog of content related to the Muppet Show. Numerous films have emerged over the years, as well as a remake of the original show in 2015, titled “Muppets Now“, Specially designed for the streaming service. At present, only two films are missing to the collection: “The Muppets in Manhattan” and “The Muppets in Space”, which still belong to Sony.

The year will therefore be busy for Disney +, which recently announced a spin-off of its cult series The Mandalorian on Boba Fett in 2021. Major blockbusters are also set to be released exclusively on the platform, such as Black Widow and other Marvel films. As Kermit the Frog says: “It will be great to see our longtime fans again, and give the new generation a chance to see where we started, how Miss Piggy became a star, and more.”
