Details of the Orange cinema series bouquet

Orange wants to broadcast Canal + on satellite

Livebox: the sesame to the Orange cinema series bouquetAs mentioned last week (5 cinema channels for Orange), Orange has just confirmed the launch of a bouquet of 5 digital channels, including one HD. Its Orange cinema series bouquet is thus enriched with new programs to constitute an offer that greatly reminds Canal + Le Bouquet.

12 euros per month in addition to the subscription

This is the price you will have to pay to access the five channels of the Orange cinema series offer, which breaks down as follows:

  • Orange cinemax: exclusive and HD blockbusters
  • Orange cinehappy: for the whole family
  • Orange cinechoc: action cinema
  • Orange cinenovo: independent films
  • Cinquant orange: the classics

Orange thus claims 1,200 films, 1,000 hours of series, 200 documentaries and 30 hours of children’s series over a year of distribution. To provide its grid, the operator / broadcaster has signed agreements with some of the essentials in the sector: Warner Bros, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, HBO, Gaumont or even BAC Films. Enough to offer exclusively Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Ocean 13, Dark Knight or the True Blood, Generation Kill, John Adams series. In practice, all the content broadcast will be available on demand for the 30 days following their first broadcast and can be viewed on both TV and PC.

Despite these figures and these announcements, which seem impressive, Orange is still struggling to hide a content offer that is still far below its direct competitor. These are indeed only 30 new exclusives that should be released per year for a long-term goal of 75. Even if we stay far from the Canal + offer, Orange is still putting real resources into the battle. It must be said that with 53 billion in turnover, Orange remains an ogre compared to 4.3 billion in the encrypted chain.

Now remains Casimir (nickname of Orange within Canal +) to highlight this content to avoid the debacle at 203 million euros of its Orange football channel which has only a few tens of thousands of subscribers. But the price of 12 euros could encourage subscribers to choose Orange cinema series rather than Canal + Le Bouquet which peaks at 31.90 euros.
