Cyberpunk 2077 players have just discovered that CD Projekt’s new hit is not completely finished. Some parts of the city the player is in are missing.
If Open World games allow total immersion and interaction with the world they create, they sometimes suffer from bugs in the immensity of their universe. Cyberpunk 2077 is no exception to the rule: players have just discovered that parts of the city Night City are not completed.
After the case of bugs and penises that appear everywhere, Cyberpunk 2077 would it be the victim of yet another problem causing annoyance for players? Perhaps, but this time, in the defense of the developers, it is more complex to detect since it is inherent in the very nature of the game.
Some places in Cyberpunk 2077 city are not yet complete
Unlike many Open World games, Cyberpunk 2077 has no invisible walls, no barriers limiting the player’s movements. Cyberpunk 2077 offers complete freedom, which comes with some problems. As shown in the little video below, when we move around certain areas of the city, we can sometimes fall into the void. The player BurritoGlasses explains that he tried several times to access the affected location, but the bug always reappeared. Impossible to escape it, therefore, even by loading different save files.
Cyberpunk 2077 having been constantly pushed back, we can be surprised at the presence of this kind of bugs. Why didn’t the developers detect it before the game was released? The health situation due to the Coronavirus probably did not help, since the developers had to finish the game this year at home rather than at CD Projekt’s premises in Poland. In addition, the immensity of the game makes it difficult to predict everything and anticipate all the graphic details that the player will perceive.
The problem will probably be solved one day by the CD Projekt team, although not immediately. Developers currently have other concerns to address in the face of the deluge of game bugs and resulting discontent. And despite the reimbursement of the game from disappointed players, the publisher is under threat of a complaint from its shareholders because of the poor quality of the game on Xbox One and PS4. The developers are therefore chaining the updates of Cyberpunk 2077, but will this be enough to improve the now tarnished reputation of the game? Nothing is less sure.
