Cyberpunk 2077 is finally available! The most anticipated game of the year is now playable on consoles, PC and Stadia and in this section we are going to take a quick tour of everything you need to know before embarking on the adventure.

After having conquered the public with the series The Witcher, CD Projekt Red launches a new license: Cyberpunk 2077. Farewell to heroic fantasy, since this time we dive into a dystopian future. In this little file, we will quickly take a tour of the owner.
📆 What is the Cyberpunk 2077 release date?
Cyberpunk 2077 released on December 10, 2020. This release concerns the PC, Stadia, GeForce Now versions, but also PS4 and Xbox One. It’s possible to play it on PS5 and Xbox Series X thanks to the magic of backward compatibility. To date, the game is rather a huge success, since more than 13 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 have sold.
Next gen versions will not arrive for several months. If you already have the game on a platform, the update on this new version will be free. At the moment, no specific date for this version, but CD Projekt has indicated that it will be in the second half of the year, once all technical issues are corrected.
💰 What is the price of Cyberpunk 2077?
On PC, the game is sold 60 euros on the Steam platform, the Epic Games Store or even GOG.com. On consoles, it’s a bit more complicated. Following the catastrophic state of the PS4 and Xbox One versions, Sony and Microsoft have decided to withdraw the game (sold € 70) from their online store. It is still possible to buy it in a boxed version in stores and on merchant sites. Note that Fnac and Amazon sell it at a discounted price, at 40 euros instead of 70 euros, in order to sell off the stock.
There is also a collector’s version of Cyberpunk 2077. It contains, in addition to the title itself of course, a special box, a CD with the original soundtrack, a steelbook, an artbook and a selection of goodies (statuette 25 cm of the character of V, Night City guide, stickers, Night City map, postcards, keychain…). Price of this beautiful pack: 220 euros. Nevertheless, it is difficult to find today and should be reserved for collectors.

💻 Which platforms are supported?
Cyberpunk 2077 released on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Stadia and GeForce Now. Moreover, a version of the Xbox One X in the colors of the game is in the game for the most fans. The Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 edition has been available since June 2020 and includes a download code for the game. An Xbox controller is also available, it can be purchased separately for € 69.99.
Cyberpunk is also available on PC, obviously, via three platforms : GOG Galaxy from CD Projekt, but also Steam and the Epic Games Store. Moreover, the launch of the game brought the two services to their knees.
The game will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X free for those who bought it on PS4 and One. Of course, graphics improvements are expected for these versions, but not for the future. We will have to wait for the release of a patch in the second half of 2021.
Warning, some sites offer a beta Android version of the game : it is actually ransomware. By downloading the application on your smartphone, it will request access to your files. Cyberpunk 2077 is ray-tracing compatible on PC thanks to a partnership with Nvidia. Note that 70 GB of free space is needed on your PC to install it. CDProjekt advises to put it on your SSD for more speed. Advice that is fast becoming a norm, after World of Warcraft Shadowlands and Call of Duty Cold War. On PS4, the game also takes 70 GB. If you’re interested, the Guru3D site has tested the performance of 30 graphics cards with Cyberpunk 2077 just to see where your PC fits.

⌚ How long does it take to complete the game?
CD Projekt had made grandiose promises regarding the game’s lifespan, even arguing that it took over 175 hours to finish it. However, the reality is very different, since the different tests evoke about twenty hours to complete the main story, and about fifty to do all the side quests. It’s already very long, but still far from 175 hours. For our part, we completed the main campaign and all the side quests in just under forty-five hours.
🧾 Are expansions and DLC planned?
CD Projekt RED has already announced that its game will benefit DLC similar to what we find on The Witcher 3. Before that, the title should benefit from free updates that offer new armor, new quests, new customization options, and more.
Tuesday, December 29, 2020, the developers announced that a rain of free DLC will land on Cyberpunk 2077 in 2021. Scheduled for the beginning of the year, the studio has finally made the decision to postpone their arrival to the second semester. The priority remains the correction of current technical problems.
The Witcher 3 had benefited from two paid expansions (Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine), offering more than ten hours of play each. It’s unclear if Cyberpunk will be entitled to such treatment, but given the success of the thing on The Witcher, their absence would be surprising. Note that the single player game does not offer any micro-transaction.

👨🏼🤝👨🏻 Multiplayer mode and Cyberpunk 2077 mods
The developers have confirmed the presence of a multiplayer mode, but this one is not yet available. The priority is reserved for the solo, in particular on the correction of the bugs, still very numerous.
CD Projekt confirmed that the multiplayer mode was developed separately from the main game and that we should not wait until 2022. No other information on this variation, which is currently very discreet. We just know that there will be micro-transactions.
Note that in the absence of a multiplayer mode, independent modders have already started their work on Cyberpunk 2077. A team is currently developing a 3rd person view for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077. In addition, a fan is working on its side on an improved version of Cyberpunk 2077 on PC.
Halk Hogan, that’s his name, is known and recognized for his HD remake of The Witcher 3 (see below). The videographer said he has similar plans for the latest CD Projekt track and that he intends to boost the quality.3D models and textures ” of the game he judges “bad quality”. ⚔ What is the type of gameplay?
Like The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG. But the similarities end there. While the first offered a third-person view (TPS), the second requires a first-person view (FPS). An announcement that did not fail to react to the community at the time. Modders have been working on a 3rd person mod ever since.
We therefore leave the medieval and fantastic world in which Geralt de Riv evolves to switch to science fiction. Unlike The Witcher where the player must control Geralt, you create your own character, whether it is its physical aspect, its capacities and characteristics, and even its history (among three choices).
Cyberpunk 2077 offers the player to navigate in an open world where the scenario is divided into missions (some are part of the main quest, others are optional and participate in expanding the scenario or enriching the gameplay). A very advanced character editor allows you to immediately create an alter ego that looks like you.
In absolute terms, you are free to explore the city and its surroundings and even make as much mayhem as you want, like in Grand Theft Auto. Freedom of action is essential and you can have fun at your leisure in Night City, even if the police system deserves to be improved.
The importance is given here to the storytelling with a system of branches, drawers and decisions that have an impact not only on the unfolding of the main scenario, but also on the options given to you to accomplish the missions, on the changes and improvements that will be available to you, as well as the evolving open world. The game’s ultimate trailer reveals all of these details in one lengthy video, in addition to focusing on the universe.
On foot, by motorbike or by car, the player can walk the infamous streets of Night City, a sort of dystopian Los Angeles. The open world offered in the game consists of six districts with very different environments. Another important detail of the gameplay: Sensory dance. Cyberpunk 2077: are there any bugs?
We are not going to go four ways: yes, when it comes out, Cyberpunk 2077 is riddled with bugs of all kinds. To make matters worse, some Twitch streamers have had the unpleasant experience of seeing their channel suspended due to a bug in the management of the game’s music copyright. If the bugs affect all versions of the game, PS4 and Xbox are particularly affected by crashes of all kinds, in addition to being poor graphically. Which led CD Projekt Red to admit that the PS4 and Xbox versions of Cyberpunk 2077 weren’t ready.
But that’s not all, since players have bluntly discovered later that some portions of the city are not finished. This situation obviously pissed off the players and CD Projekt apologized, offering an unconditional refund. for those who wish.
The publisher also risks heavy fines, especially in Poland where a consumer association is about to force the studio to review its working methods and correct one by one the problems of the CD title projekt Red under penalty of having to pay large damages.
CD Projekt was forced to apologize on video, promising corrective patches that will arrive regularly. Bloomberg also published a lengthy survey looking back at the chaotic development, pointing the finger at the studio for its chaotic management, crunch and outsized ambitions.
