Cyberpunk 2077 is officially available since Wednesday December 10, 2020. Just launched, the CD game Projekt RED has already been cracked. Several versions of the title, from Steam and GOG, are available on torrent sites.
If you are interested in video games, you probably know that this Wednesday, December 10, 2020 is marked by the fanfare launch of Cyberpunk 2077, the latest RPG from CD Projekt RED. After seven long years of development, players were able to get their hands on the title on Wednesday, bringing the Steam and GOG platforms to their knees.
Just launched, one of the most ambitious and anticipated games of the decade has already been pirated. Cracked versions of the game are currently circulating on several torrent sites. According to the NotebookCheck site, three different pirated grinds (at a minimum) have been spotted:
- A version with a size of 110 GB from GOG Galaxy, the gaming platform owned by CD Projekt RED
- A 55 GB version from Steam
- And finally the language pack which weighs 47 GB and which is added to the Steam version
Note that it is not surprising to see versions cracked so quickly, Cyberpunk 2077 being a DRM-free game. As a reminder, the GOG Galaxy platform has always put a high point in offering games without DRM, that is to say devoid of security systems against pirating and copying.
Nevertheless, these “opportunistic” players are likely to quickly become disillusioned, since these illegal copies of the game can very well contain malware. In addition, they will be deprived of all future patches, and given the current state of the game, there may well be several dozen in the coming months.
As a reminder, if the PC and Stadia versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are hailed by gamers and critics for its photorealism, the result is a disaster on PS4 and Xbox One. The complaints multiply on the forums, the players being scandalized by the poor performance of the title on these consoles: regular drop in framerate up to 20 FPS, clipping galore, location of hazardous damage, freezes in spades, not to mention the unwanted crashes that require you to restart the game.
