Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt RED promises a “rain of free DLC” in early 2021

Cyberpunk 2077 players will be able to enjoy “a shower of free DLC” from the start of 2021. In any case, this is what CD Projekt RED has just announced on its official website. As with The Witcher 3, the developers have therefore decided to offer additional content for free. Is this enough to calm the discontent of the players? Not sure.

CD Projekt RED has just made the news official on its official website. All Cyberpunk 2077 players will enjoy “rain of free DLC ” from the start of 2021. The Polish studio has not, however, gone into details, but we suspect that it will probably be weapons, outfits and additional items, and some side quests, while perhaps waiting for a paid extension in the middle of 2021 who knows.

With The witcher 3, CD Projekt RED was rightly illustrated by offering a wave of additional free content to all players. A practice hailed by players in 2015 when the title was released, when the majority of publishers had given way to excessively paid DLC fashion.

Players were thus able to collect free alternative skins for Yennefer, Triss and Ciri, sets of crossbows, armor Nilfgaard, Skellige and Temeria, beards and hairstyles and several new side quests, including the treasure hunt dedicated to the equipment of the School of the Wolf, the “clan” of Geralt.

While the announcement of these DLCs is good news, it probably isn’t enough to quell the ire of PS4 and Xbox One gamers. Indeed, if the game is excellent on PC, Stadia and GeForce Now, the title is a disaster on PS4 and Xbox One. After the fiasco of the current-gen versions, shareholders have decided to file a complaint against CD Projekt RED.

The law firm in charge of this appeal, Ronsen, accuses of having lied about the real performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on console. “Cyberpunk 2077 is virtually unplayable on current generation Xbox or Playstation systems due to a huge number of bugs ”, assures the representative of the complainants.

While waiting for a possible trial, CD Projekt is working hard to patch the PS4 and Xbox One versions. On December 24, 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.06 was released. It resolves in particular the problem of the bug of corrupted backups.
