If you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you know thatApple is very attached to the quality of the speakers of its iOS devices. The site iClarified produced a video which compares the sound power of the 10 iPhones from the Cupertino company, from the iPhone 2G (EDGE) of 2007 to the iPhone 6 Plus released last September.
The detail of the power (in decibels) of all Apple smartphones: iPhone 2G (94.3 dB), iPhone 3G (98.6 dB), iPhone 3GS (103.6 dB), iPhone 4 (92.9 dB), iPhone 4S (101.1 dB ), iPhone 5 (104.0 dB), iPhone 5C (102.0 dB), iPhone 5S (103.6 dB), iPhone 6 (105.4 dB), iPhone 6 Plus: 105.0 dB).
As you may have noticed, the logic behind loudspeakers becoming more powerful over time is not entirely respected. For example, the sound of the iPhone 4 is less powerful than the iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS and the sound of the iPhone 6 Plus is also less powerful than that of 6.
It is however important to note that the test was carried out with Canadian iPhones, which are not clamped like those sold in Europe.
