Available since 2002, the Club Nintendo presents itself as a Nintendo loyalty program, allowing players to take advantage of goodies in exchange for star points which are acquired by registering games and consoles on the online site.
If the prizes are now less attractive, Club Nintendo recently proposed to certain elected officials to buy a New 3DS Ambassador Edition, in a limited edition.
Nevertheless, Nintendo has decided to officially close this service on June 30, 2015 in France. Also, it is advisable to use all the star points that you have before this date, otherwise you will be completely lost.
Nintendo also promises to add games to download and some goodies in the catalog during February 2015, to allow gamers to spend their points. In addition, all Club members will receive a code to download Flipnote Studio 3D for free next month.
As of January 20, 2015, Nintendo will no longer provide a registration code in the games and consoles it distributes, including the New 3DS. March 31st will be the last day to register products and glean points to use on the site.
It is also specified that it is advisable to accumulate 300 points or 600 points between July 31, 2014 and March 31, 2015 to have a Elite status, allowing you to freely download a 3DS or Wii U game from a selection of titles between April 1 and 30, 2015. The list is available at this address.
To replace Club Nintendo, the manufacturer will announce a new program which will be announced shortly.
