The Asian automaker Hyundai has just updated the on-board system of some of its recent models. An update that now guarantees these cars support for CarPlay, the on-board version of iOS from the Apple company.
Thus, all owners of Hyundai cars released in 2015 and 2016 will now have the pleasure of enjoying the different features and options that CarPlay offers. These include the ability to receive and make calls, play music, send messages, follow Maps, all from the on-board system screen. Even better, they will benefit from all the advantages and options offered by Siri voice control.
CarPlay is now available on several vehicles of different brands and from different countries. And its field is now widening with the addition of new compatible Hyundai models, namely the 2017 Santa Fe Sport, the 2016 Elantra GT, the 2015/2016 Sonata (excluding hybrid models), the 2017 Santa Fe, the Genesis Sedan 2015/2016 and the Tucson 2016.
To take advantage of this new update, the owners of these cars will simply have to download it from the Hyundai website and then put it on an SD card which will be inserted into the vehicle’s reader. Installation can take anywhere from 25 minutes to 3 hours.
