Bloomberg: a year 2020 full of new iPhones, HomePods, Macs, iPads and accessories

New iPhone, Mac, HomePod, accessories 2020 will be almost a year for Apple. Bloomberg takes stock of the planned launches and brings some additional details or confirmations what we had already heard.

iPhone

As already announced by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the fall range of iPhones would include 4 models, all equipped with 5G. For the two that will replace the iPhone 11 and 11Pro, their design will borrow from the lines of the iPadPro and the old iPhone 5, with straight edges and without rounding on the edges of the screen.

On the back, we will have the three objectives as today, complete with a LIDAR system appeared with the latest iPad (read Test of the iPadPro 2020 and Ming-Chi Kuo: image stabilization, also on the ultra wide-angle for the 6.7 inch iPhone). The successor to the iPhone 11Pro Max is planned to use a larger screen than the current 6.5 "(last December already, Ming-Chi Kuo was counting on an iPhone of 6.7" and models of 5.4 ", and two 6.1"). The other two iPhone would continue to use 2 cameras on the back, like the iPhone11.

Apple is working to remove the notch containing the front camera, and all of the True Depth gear needed for Face ID to work, in future designs. But for the 2020 range, we should at least have a finer notch.

Finally, we should expect significantly higher performance for the processor used on these four models, with an emphasis on uses exploiting increased reality and artificial intelligence. As has already been the case for the new iPadPro.

Some of these four new iPhones could suffer from a delay in their launch, due to the pandemic, however the release schedule would remain fixed over the autumn period. Apple engineers plan to go to China next month to assist with final validation of the prototypes.

HomePod, Apple Tags and Mac

Regarding the more affordable HomePod, its arrival is expected this year too. The new speaker, which would complement the current one, would be about half the size and would keep the same design. Previously, Bloomberg had suggested that the HomePod could use native services other than AppleMusic, including Spotify, instead of allowing it only through AirPlay. One way to broaden the HomePods customer base, in addition to offering a more affordable model.

For the Apple Tag, a competitor announcing the Tiles, marketing is also planned this year. The site specifies that it will be provided with a leather pouch and a carabiner to hang it on objects that we do not want to lose track of.

Finally, we should expect a refresh in the range of non-Pro iPads, a new MacBookPro, a new iMac and a new AppleTV, concludes Bloomberg. Logically, not all Macs have the new keyboard with scissors, nor the Intel 10egnration processors.
