Certainly Apple and Google are becoming more and more competitors, even enemies, since the introduction of Androd in the mobile market and even more since the arrival of the Nexus One …
If we crust the revelations of BusinessWeek, Apple would be looking for a new partner regarding the default search engine for Safari on iPhone and negotiations would even be underway with the famous Redmond firm which is none other than … Microsoft!
If the negotiations were successful, it would not be surprising to see Bing by default arriving as a search engine on the iPhone's Safari and the purpose of the maneuver would at the same time be to weaken Google's position on the mobile Internet.
It remains to be seen whether this maneuver would only concern the United States or would be global.
We discuss it on the forum.
