Best of Netflix: What’s New for November 2018

Netflix is our preferred way to watch movies, TV, and documentaries on our various devices, but it can be difficult to keep up with the interesting content on the horizon every month. Who are the newcomers and which are worth your precious time? In this monthly list, we’ll answer these questions with our top tips for Netflix.

Netflix: best shows and movies coming in November 2018

While it’s not possible to perform a full analysis of all the new shows and movies showing on Netflix this month, we’ve provided some special recommendations below.

(Children of Men) Children of Men

In a dystopian future in which humanity is unable to reproduce, Children of Men combines science fiction, human drama and tense action with a successful visual style. In a repressive and authoritarian Britain, our hero, Theo, agrees to get a pregnant refugee to safety, thus bringing humanity’s last hope through a brutal post-apocalyptic civil war. Grimy, rough, but still convincing, Children of Men is hard to watch, but worth the effort.

(House of Cards) House of Cards

It’s intrigue, corruption and stabbing on Capitol Hill as House of Cardsreturns for its sixth and final season, this time without Kevin Spacey, who was fired from the award-winning series over allegations of sexual assault. Nonetheless, Robin Wright’s Claire Underwood is just as much the anti-hero as her husband was, and we can’t wait to see how she stands up against her external enemies and traitors as the new President of the United States.

Super Drags

Not all heroes wear capes. Some like sequins and stiletto heels too! In this new animated series for adults, crime fighters turn fabulous. By day Patrick, Ralph and Donizete are three young gay men (voiced by theTriPhan, Mattel, Shangela, Willam and Ginger Minj graduates by RuPaul’s Drag Race ) who work in a department store and unleash the divas in them: three drag superheroines who battle the evil Lady Elza, who sows hatred against the LGBTQ community.

Available: November 9

(Green Room) Green Room

This horror thriller doesn’t rely on ghouls and ghosts to keep you on the edge of your seat. Instead, this story follows the fate of a group of touring punk musicians who unwittingly booked themselves into a performance at a neo-Nazi venue in rural America. Things turn quickly in the main green room and our brave punks must escape under the watchful eye of the Nazi gang led by Patrick Stewart, a man of sinister personality.

Narcos: Mexico

The Guadalajara Cartel is now the center of action for this new season of Netflix’s most addicting series. After the fall of Pablo Escobar and the Cali cartel, all that remains is the narcotic intrigues of Mexico. The cast includes Diego Luna as Felix Gallardo, a drug dealer battling Michael Peña as DEA agent Kiki Camarena. Even without the presence of Pablo Escobar, the new Narcos series will offer plenty of action junkies.

Available: November 16

The Ballad of Buster Scraggs

The Coen brothers’ latest film is a Netflix original. Set in the Old West, the film is divided into six chapters that tell six different stories set on the US border. On a curious note, singer Tom Waits stars in one of them. More familiar growers like James Franco, Liam Neeson, and Joe Kazan join the Gravel Voice Growler. Tim Blake Nelson plays titular musician Buster Scruggs. Joel and Ethan Coen have an impressive track record with fantastic films, and we expect their signature mix of excellent cinema and offbeat humor to shine in this anthology.
