While Apple launched the new generation of its AirPods last month, its subsidiary Beats announces the arrival of Powerbeats Pro. Two totally wireless headphones that have several characteristics in common.
Inside, there is the Apple H1 chip for improving the connection with support for Bluetooth 5. It can solicit Siri by voice (without pressing a button) and operate voice-activated controls . This is obviously with Apple devices, which does not prevent compatibility with Android devices.
Unlike AirPods, the Powerbeats Pro charging case does not benefit from Qi-compatible wireless charging. On the other hand, the promise is an autonomy of up to 9 hours of listening (more than 24 hours with the magnetic box), while it is 5 hours of listening for the AirPods.
Beats also highlights Fast Fuel technology for 1.5 hours of use with 5 minutes of charge and up to 4.30 hours with 15 minutes of charge.
The Powerbeats Pro are announced 23% smaller and 17% lighter than the brand's previous headphones. These in-ear headphones are oriented for sports with resistance to water and perspiration, without being completely waterproof.
The Powerbeats Pro will be available in black, cream, green and blue for € 249.95. Availability is scheduled for May. Information has already been posted on the Apple or Beats websites.
