Apple is not yet present on the augmented reality glasses market. Interested in the community, the Cupertino brand is preparing its first foray. On social media, Robert Scoble, a renowned blogger in the Apple community, announced a partnership between Apple and Carl Zeiss for the design of augmented reality glasses. These AR glasses would land before 2018.
For information, Carl Zeiss is a specialist in precision optics. The German company is currently marketing the VR One Plus, a headset with special optics transforming a smartphone into a virtual or augmented reality system.
Leak during CES 2017
Quoting an employee at Carl Zeiss, Scoble reports that Apple is working on a pair of augmented reality glasses that may be released before next year. The blogger also explains that the presence of the German company at CES 2017 is due to this partnership. For the moment, there is nothing to verify this information.
However, recent comments by the big boss of Cupertino (who says that his firm is interested in the sector) leave doubt. Either way, the apple brand is lagging behind in the augmented or virtual reality industry. Its rivals Google and Samsung have already launched their products.
