Apple spokesperson confirms recent acquisition of Israeli company Anobit specializes in flash memory. The amount of the undisclosed transaction is estimated to be between $ 400 and $ 500 million.
At the end of December, information circulated about a possible takeover of Anobit by Apple. The information was confirmed on Tuesday by Steve Dowling, spokesman for the Cupertino company.
Anobit is an Israeli company specializing in Flash memory which owes its reputation to its own MSP (Memory Signal Processing) technology, which is supposed to facilitate and speed up the flash memory process. Until now, Anobit has already had a special relationship with Apple, iPad, iPhone and the MacBook Air already benefiting from its technology.
To date, it is still unclear what plans Apple has regarding the strategic choice of this acquisition. We do know, however, that the glove plans to open a research center, which would be the first to be located outside the United States.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. According to rumors, Apple has spent between 400 and 500 million dollars.
We discuss it on the forum.
