In the Apple – Samsung lawsuit the two companies must reveal confidential information: the sales and incomes of these.
This week the two companies in the front page of the trial had to reveal confidential information: the sales and revenues thereof. Indeed some people claim to buy a product Samsung thinking that this one is a Apple .. it’s pretty weird.
To prove that this is not the case, or at least that these cases are not as frequent as it seems the two companies were called to show the sales results between June 2010 and June 2012.
All Things D did a little research in the hope of giving us the figures of the two companies: Samsung sold approximately 1.4 million Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 10.1, thus having an income of $ 644 million. Regarding phones Samsung sold 21.25 million phones representing $ 7.5 billion in revenue.
Since 2007 Apple sold 85 million iPhones (50 million since 2010), thus generating $ 50 billion in revenue from the telephone industry. Since the announcement ofiPad (in 2010) Apple would have sold 34 million units which together represent a turnover of $ 19 billion.
These figures clearly give a head start to Samsung in the trial: Apple still has much bigger sales despite ‘copied’ products than the competition sells.
Who will win? More to come in the days that follow!
