According to details shared on the Chinese social network Weibo, Apple has sent gift packages including a iPad, face masks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, coffee, tea and more, to employees stranded in Wenzhou and Hubei due to coronavirus.
A letter attached to each package indicates that the iPads are provided for children’s online learning or to help pass the time during the “extended stay at home”. Here is what is written in full in the letter:
“Dear colleagues from Hubei and Wenzhou,
We hope this letter finds you in good health. Since the last communication with you, we understand that you all remain strong in these difficult times. We understand the challenges you face and we would like to give you and your families our best support. Hubei and the city of Wuhan were the hardest hit by the coronavirus epidemic, which claimed 2,835 lives in China.
We send you our best wishes, on behalf of the entire Apple team, as well as another CareKit for you and your families. In this kit you will find comfort items and an iPad that can be used to facilitate children’s online learning or to help pass the time during the extended stay at home.
In addition, a series of advisory and consultancy services have been specially prepared to help you pass this time. “
For your information, more of the half of Apple Stores have reopened in China and production of iPhones (and other Apple products) is still going flat.
