Apple continues to expand its leadership in the tablet industry, as shown by IDC data for the fourth quarter of 2019.
The latest information shows that Apple represents 36.5% of the tablet market with a total of 15.9 million units shipped, thanks in particular to the great success of the latest 10.2-inch iPad. During the same period of 2018, Apple had a market share of 29.6% with 12.9 million devices delivered.
The 10.2-inch iPad released in September reached 65% of the 15.9 million iPad sold in the last quarter of 2019, confirming the great success of a tablet with an affordable price and advanced functions.
Cupertino therefore retains the first position, with a clear detachment compared to Samsung with 7 million tablets shipped (16.1%). Third place for Huawei with 4 million, followed by Amazon (3.3 million) and Lenovo (2.5 million). Apple is also the only company with Lenovo to have grown compared to 2018.
