In America, companies working on autonomous vehicles have been encouraged to report on security at the very heart of the on-board autonomous driving systems.
That said, this report is not required and besides, the builder Tesla is the only one not to have delivered it. The details contained in the document in question therefore remain at the discretion of the company.
Apple published a document yesterday containing 7 pages: “Our approach to the safety of autonomous driving systems”.
The report itself is not very detailed, compared to its competitors who would have transmitted files containing dozens of pages.
We don’t learn nothing new in these pages: it is the driver’s duty to check the tire pressure before a mission, the vehicles all have an operator and a driver on board, a team cannot do more than one daily mission…
The main purpose of this report is to suggest thatApple does not wish to communicate on his project. The document will not allow us to know more and even less to guess the purpose of Apple in its involvement in autonomous driving.
