Apple recently announced that its employees may participate in a new business challenge in February with their Apple Watch. However, the challenge was postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic in China and the closings of several Chinese Apple Stores.
Currently, Apple has closed all stores, offices and business centers in China to prevent the spread of the virus to employees and customers.
Earlier this week, Apple sent the following email to employees, advising them that it had decided to postpone the challenge:
The challenge to close your rings is one of those rare opportunities to bring together team members and colleagues from around the world for the common goal of closing activity rings, earning points and having fun. Since a number of offices and stores are currently closed in China, some members of our team cannot participate in the challenge, so we decided to postpone it. For now, the challenge will be removed from the application.
We will keep you posted as soon as we have a new date where we can focus together to close all of our rings!
Apple’s stores and offices in China are expected to reopen on February 9 at this time, although concerns about the coronavirus may delay this date. The challenge of employee activities will likely be postponed for a few months.
