Apple is reportedly preparing to launch Apple Pay, its contactless payment service, in a new country. It would be in Mexico, as a user on Twitter announced.

The user in question is in Mexico and indicates that he was able to add his bank card BanRegio in the Apple Wallet app (the app that manages Apple Pay), simply by changing the region of the iPhone and choosing the United States (or another region that already supports Apple Pay, editor’s note).
It is true that the cards BanRegio have been successfully added, but it is not yet possible to verify with the bank, because Apple Pay is not yet officially launched by Apple.
However, it’s probably only a matter of time before Apple officially announces the availability of Apple Pay for Mexican users. If Apple launches its contactless payment service in the country, Mexico will be the second Latin American country to offer Apple Pay, after Brazil in 2018.
