This is great news for users of Apple devices in France! Indeed, after long waits, they will soon be able to benefit from the contactless payment service of the firm with the apple. The news was officially announced by Apple on Monday evening and detailed information on the subject is now available in French on the dedicated Apple Pay page.
You should know that no exact date has yet been communicated for the launch of Apple Pay in France. However, what is certain is that it will be done in the coming months. The launch of the service may coincide with the release of the public version of iOS 10 scheduled for September. Nothing is sure yet!
For its arrival in France, Apple Pay will be compatible with Visa or MasterCard. Moreover, we already know the names of the banks and distributors who are partners of the firm in this operation. Examples include Banque Postale, LCL, Banque Populaire, BNP and other merchants such as Fnac, Carrefour and even Sephora.
Admittedly, there are still very few partners at the moment. However, it is hoped that this is only temporary and that Apple Pay may expand to other banks in the future.
