Earlier this month, the U.S. Patent Office (United States Patent and Trademark Office) published a patent application forApple revealing a wireless charging device with a levitation system.
The device presented in the patent is actually a magnetic charging station. This generates a field allowing the transmission of electricity at a distance. This magnetic field is so strong that it also levitates the terminal associated with it. To use the device, the user only needs to put their iPhone or Apple Watch on it.
As the battery level increases, the strength of the magnetic field decreases; just like the force of levitation. When levitating, the fully charged iDevice can also rotate on itself. Apple could use this technology in its stores for the presentation of its new devices. The rotational movement would then be done according to the musical atmosphere.
In the near future, customers of Apple stores could admire a new floating iPhone while listening to a presentation made by Siri. The patent application was filed in Q3 2015. For the time being, the release date of such a product remains unknown.
