Apple on eBooks: "We are breaking Amazon's monopoly"

Following the scandal over the eBook price deal, Apple finally reacted publicly and gave its opinion on the subject. Cupertino believes that it is not responsible for unfair competition, on the contrary, the company “breaks Amazon's monopoly.”

“The accusations of the American justice system about Apple are just unfounded. The iBookStore launch in 2010 increased competition by breaking Amazon’s monopoly on the industry. Since then, users have enjoyed more interactive and engaging eBooks. Just as we allowed developers to set their prices on the App Store, we allow them to do the same on the iBookStore”Said the Cupertino company.

According to Apple's statements, there would never have been an agreement on prices, on the contrary even since Apple would be the company that would allow publishers to get rid of Amazon's grip on the market. Remain present to see what will end the debate and especially if Apple and its partners will be sanctioned or not by the American justice.

We talk on the forum.
